Things to do – Walking Book Club

Hello Residents – You have a walking book club in your midst!

Having been inspired by the Hampstead Walking Book Club, the Ealing Walking Book Club (EWBC) was created just over 2 years ago and happily is going strong. We meet monthly, on the third Thursday of the month, and walk in Pitshanger Park (for approximately 1 hour), discussing a book, proposed by a different member of the group each month and finishing up with a coffee in the Park Café. In bad weather, we meet at the Duke of Kent pub…..amazingly, this has only happened once!  We focus on exploring the themes and issues raised in the narrative rather than discussing the actual writing and format of the books.  See our website www.ealingwalkingbookclub.wordpress.com for further information and also to give you a sense of the variety of books which we have read over the years.

All are welcome, including babies in buggies and dogs – do come and join us.  We meet at 11 am at the Meadvale Gate of Pitshanger Park (opposite Barnfield Road). See below for details of current books being discussed.

We continue to meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month. December’s book is “Mrs. Hemmingway” by Naomi Wood and we are meeting on the 17th to discuss it.
